Brighter Tomorrows and Stage Writers proudly present the first-ever Purple Playbill staged reading event, designed to promote awareness and prevention of domestic and teen dating violence to the North Texas community. From a dozen locally-written submissions, four plays were selected to receive dramatic staged readings, and one play, chosen by an audience vote, will be promoted for use in middle schools, high schools, and college campuses on a local, state, and national level to raise awareness of domestic and teen dating violence. All plays are original works written by North Texas playwrights, and all donations will support Brighter Tomorrows in their mission: “to empower victims of domestic violence and sexual assault by providing emergency safe shelter, transitional housing, support services, and partnering with stakeholders to raise awareness of domestic violence in our community.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness & Prevention Month. The theme color for DV prevention and awareness is purple.
